About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented, process-driven co-op student to join our Operations team in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. In this role, you'll gain end-to-end exposure across production planning, inventory control, quality compliance, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement

This is an on-site, hands-on placement with real responsibility. You'll work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Finance teams and receive dedicated mentorship throughout your term. This posting is for a 4 month co-op term beginning in May 2026, with the possibility of extending.

What You'll Do

Production Planning & Shop-Floor Support

  • Prepare daily and weekly build plans: pull work orders (WOs) from the ERP system, confirm material availability, and flag shortages or scheduling risks.
  • Support work order closeout discipline and reconciliations to maintain accurate production records.

Inventory Management & Warehouse

  • Coordinate cycle counts: prepare count sheets, Do counts reconcile results, and investigate variances.
  • Assist with the annual full inventory count.

Supplier Management

  • Maintain and update supplier information to ensure records are current and accurate.

Quality & Compliance

  • Assist with NCR (Non-Conformance Report), IMP, and ECO disposition processes.

Continuous Improvement (Lean / 5S)

  • Conduct regular 5S audits, red tag events, and visual management updates on the shop floor.
  • Perform time studies and basic process mapping to identify bottlenecks and eliminate waste.

Project Management

  • Assist with ongoing ERP and operational continuous improvement projects.
  • Take ownership of discrete project workstreams, coordinating tasks and tracking progress to completion.

What You Bring

  • Currently enrolled in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, or a related co-op program.
  • Proficient in Excel — PivotTables, XLOOKUP, data cleansing, and structured reporting.
  • Comfortable working in SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite preferred) is an asset but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills and rigorous attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, comfortable drafting emails, meeting minutes, and tracking documents.
  • Proactive problem solver who can manage competing priorities and follow SOPs in a regulated environment.
  • Collaborative team-player with a “roll-up your sleeves” approach

Eligibility

  • Approved for a full-time co-op work term through your academic institution.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Available on-site in Mississauga for the full duration of the term.

Work Environment

This role is based in an active manufacturing and warehouse environment with regular shop-floor exposure. You will be expected to:

  • Follow all PPE requirements and safety procedures at all times.
  • Be on your feet for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

What You'll Gain

  • End-to-end experience across production planning and inventory control in a regulated industry.
  • Hands-on exposure to an ISO 13485 / FDA QSR quality management system.
  • Practical ERP experience in NetSuite and process improvement skills.
