FloPatch is the world’s first wireless Doppler ultrasound system designed to support the clinical management of critically ill patients. The wearable sensor enables real-time functional hemodynamic monitoring for patients requiring cardiopulmonary and fluid resuscitation.
We are seeking a curious, analytical, and detail-oriented Clinical Data Engineer to join our Clinical & Research team. This role plays a critical part in advancing our clinical evidence strategy by supporting algorithm development, signal quality analysis, and clinical data studies that drive product innovation and improve patient outcomes. Reporting to the Clinical team, you will work closely with Engineering, Research & Development, Clinical Affairs, and Product teams to support ongoing research and the expansion of FloPatch into new clinical applications.
The ideal candidate is passionate about working with clinical data, enjoys solving complex problems, and thrives in a collaborative environment. You will support multiple clinical studies by ensuring the quality and integrity of incoming data, performing meaningful analyses, and communicating findings through presentations and reports. Your work will directly contribute to new product use cases, future funding opportunities, and the continued success of our technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strong programming skills (Python - preferred, R) to optimize software product capabilities.
- Demonstrate experience working with large, complex datasets to solve exciting analysis problems.
- Provide data science leadership for evidence generation (i.e. handling, biostatistics, interpretation).
- Work closely with clinical science and medical affairs directors to create, confirm and validate clinical hypotheses.
- Partake in designing and leading clinical research studies from data generation, data analysis, outlining manuscript, and follow-up process.
- Lead, review and evaluate clinical research results in scientific literature to determine continued clinical relevance of products and/or potential for claim extension.
- Overview maintenance of trial master files and databases and data version control. Implementing protocols, studies and operational processes.
- Preparing project materials using various software programs to generate high quality reports, presentations, figures for grants, posters, manuscripts.
- Attend key medical and scientific congresses and trade association meetings. Serving as the primary contact for assigned studies.
- Reviewing and revising protocols as appropriate and elevate status/priority to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, computer science, applied mathematics, or
- similar) with 5+ years medical imaging/hemodynamics experience
- OR higher-level graduate degree with 3+ years of medical imaging/hemodynamics experience OR experience in biotech/pharmaceuticals industries
- Strong biostatics experience
- Evidence of strong peer-reviewed publication record
- Proficient in Python
- Experience with version control (GitHub)
COMPENSATION:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 CAD annually. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, market factors, and business need.
