We are a team of passionate medical and technological innovators on a mission to improve patient treatment and outcomes with cutting-edge medical devices like the FloPatch. FloPatch is the world’s first wireless Doppler ultrasound system designed to support the clinical management of critically ill patients. The wearable sensor enables real-time functional hemodynamic monitoring for patients requiring cardiopulmonary and fluid resuscitation. The successful candidate will assist Flosonics Medical in introducing FloPatch to the world.
The Clinical Data Scientist will play an essential role on our growing team. They will be responsible for providing statistical support, with a focus on clinical studies, publications support, and clinical data engineering products. Our ideal candidate will be able to connect the dots between the outcomes of a clinical study and raw data. If you are highly skilled in understanding how/why data applies to research, able to understand DSP signal processing and a self-starter who is passionate about transforming raw data into improved clinical and patient outcomes, then we want to hear from you!
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strong programming skills (Python, R, Swift preferred) to optimize software product capabilities.
- Demonstrate experience working with large, complex datasets to solve exciting analysis problems.
- Provide data science leadership for evidence generation.
- Work closely with clinical science and medical affairs directors to create, confirm and validate clinical hypotheses.
- Partake in designing and leading clinical research studies from data generation, data analysis, outlining manuscript, and follow-up process.
- Lead, review and evaluate clinical research results in scientific literature to determine continued clinical relevance of products and/or potential for claim extension.
- Overview maintenance of trial master files and databases and data version control. Implementing protocols, studies and operational processes.
- Preparing project materials using various software programs to generate high quality reports, presentations, figures for grants, posters, manuscripts.
- Understand clinical data products and production processes.
- Conduct dimensional modeling to support data organization and usability.
- Provide actionable insights through effective data visualization and reporting.
- Keep up with scientific literature and serve as the primary contact for assigned studies.
- Reviewing and revising protocols as appropriate and elevate status/priority to relevant stakeholders.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar) with 5+ years medical imaging/hemodynamics experience OR MSc with 3+ years of medical imaging/hemodynamics experience OR experience in biotech/pharmaceuticals industries. MSc preferred.
- 3-5 years in data architecture, engineering, or reporting roles, with prior biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
- Evidence of strong peer-reviewed publication record
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud).Proficiency in data modeling, ETL development, and data integration techniques.
- Experience with version control (GitHub)
- Experience with data reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Skilled in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, SQL).
