Conavi Medical’s Novasight Hybrid System enables simultaneous imaging of a patient’s coronary arteries using both intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) technologies.
If you would like to be a part of a team that is making a difference in healthcare, we are currently looking for Catheter R&D engineers with intermediate to expert levels of experience to be involved in leading edge development of complex catheter imaging technology. This is an on-site position at Conavi's Toronto facility.
In these positions, you will be responsible for:
- Development of new designs for catheters through full product lifecycle from concept to production transfer (working with internal and external resources such as contract manufacturers)
- Pre-clinical/simulated clinical testing
- Root cause analysis and investigations of non-conformances and user complaints
- Design of catheter improvements based on performance feedback from the field and manufacturing line
- Contribute to development of test plans with Operations team
and third-parties related to device verification and validation (internal and external including but not limited to sterilization, biocompatibility, useability, shipping, aging electrical, optical and acoustic safety)
- Risk analysis and management related activities to ensure patient safety
- Coach and mentor less experienced R&D engineers
- Participate, and adhere to, health & safety initiatives and requirements
Your qualifications will include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related engineering discipline
- Demonstrated experience in full cycle product development of medical devices including design, verification, and scale-up
- Proven abilities to perform design engineering work independently
- Experienced in catheter/miniature assembly prototyping and assembly process development, with strong knowledge of small to medium manufacturing techniques (e.g. micro machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.)
- Strong mechanical aptitude including the ability to assemble and test prototypes
- Solid experience creating mechanical models in 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred) and 2D drawings for catheters, tools, and fixtures
- Experience interacting with clinicians as well as third-party suppliers as required
- Skilled in performing analysis of multivariate, complex problems using software tools such as MATLAB and Minitab
- Strong in writing verification plans and protocols, conducting testing and drafting reports
- Knowledge of ISO such as 10993, 13485, 1737, 11607
- Key competencies include innovation, initiative, communications, and leadership especially for the senior level position
